Clemyjontri park by the CIA
We decided to spend part of Sunday at Clemyjontri park, down by the CIA. This park is very close to my old High School, Langley High School and I used to run by it almost every day when it was just estate land. The land was owned by Mortimer and Adele Lebowitz (18 acres). After raising their children in the home, they decided to preserve it as parkland rather than sell it for development. One of the conditions Mrs. Lebowitz placed on the gift was that the park contain a playground for children with disabilities.
The name CLEMYJONTRI is derived from the donor’s four children: Carolyn (CL), Emily (EM), John (Jon), and Patrina (Tri).

As Jeanne, Robert and I turned the corner to enter the park, I think the first thought that crossed all our minds was "Oh my gosh!". It is just amazing and really makes you want to be a kid all over again. There had to be at least 50 different playground structures to play on, and there must have been at least 200 people there. There were slides, swings, cross-walks, and it was all built on shredded rubber ground. There were paths for kids to bring their tricycles and ride on, and it was very open so that you could always see the children. The Merry-Go-Round was closed for winter (it would seem our 60 degree days are much too cold to operate the machinery). Enjoy the pictures from our day of fun in the park.

Just one of the many structures for children to play on.
