Ride em Cowboy!
We took Robert over to Burke, VA today for a fall festival which included childrens rides, and pony rides. We were shooting to get over early enough to find a good parking spot, but we managed to get a late start and still find an ok spot. I think his mom had higher hopes of Robert riding some high flying rides, but after seeing the other kids, it was pretty clear Robert wasn't quite the man yet.

We set our sights for the ball pit, and the tea cup ride. He loved both, and also really enjoyed watching the other kids.

It's a little crazy watching all those kids in the moon bounce..they are non stop energy. The library was unloading some books, and so we got some "more" books at low, low prices. Robert has probably the biggest book collection of any 18mos old in the state of VA. The good thing is that he loves to read, and vigorously reads everything we put in front of him. The highlight of the day came when we moved over to the pony rides. I thought he was going to go into convulsions watching the ponies, and I could feel his entire body shake with excitement as I held him in line. But when we walked over to the pony, and set him in the saddle, he had a one in a million look on his face. What a cute boy he is. The pictures tell a pretty good story:

One very happy boy!

A lot better than riding Dad around the family room!

All focus is on the pony!

We finally gave him a haircut today, and it turned out great. Of course, I'll be the first to say he looks even cuter. I have to get the darn shower in the basement finished..the problem is trying to do everything a dad can do with an awesome son, and still get all my chores done. We have had some good rain lately, and so some of the flowers are starting to come back around. We are in the initial planning phase of Matt's 30th bday party, but it looks like it will be a Luau with some good food, good Hawaiian drinks, and hopefully some good activities. Love to all!
