Two great website to help distil the truth in today's world of politics:

PolitiFact.com: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/
A good place to check up on the factual truth behind attacks made by all candidates, or attacks on candidates.

Snopes.com: http://www.snopes.com/
A good place to check the validity of chain emails distributed around the internet. I check most emails against Snopes.com to make sure it is remotely valid.
